We offer our expertise in occupational therapy to promote health and well-being through completing thorough assessments, individual therapy, vocational rehabilitation & discharge planning.
Full time occupational therapy services are offered at our consulting rooms based in the newly established Life Brackenview Hospital - a dedicated mental healthcare facility specialising in the treatment of psychiatric disorders, including substance dependence or other conditions that are associated with these disorders.
About Our Practice
We have experience working in various fields such as mental health and community - based rehabilitation, substance abuse & vocational rehabilitation. We can assist with the following (however our services are not limited to the following):
- Using assessments (standardized and non-standardized) to assist the MDT/psychiatrist when they are querying a diagnosis by giving feedback on a client’s functioning.
- Providing individual sessions to focus on specific coping skills/practical strategies to promote wellness post discharge, especially in the workplace.
- Functional capacity evaluations (FCE) can be conducted if a patient requires an extended recovery period and cannot return to work immediately or if the patient’s functional prognosis is poor and requires motivation for medical boarding.
- Liaising with the patient’s employer and other stakeholders.
- Helping clients to learn activities to master academic, intellectual and emotional skills.
- Facilitating learning of sensory and emotional regulation skills in children and adults.
We thrive on working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, social workers and other specialists in order to provide an integrated service.
